A tribute to remember John's words
After John's death on July 31st of this year all of us who knew him struggled to cope with the shock and sadness of the loss,
and I guess that for me putting together these pages has been my way to do so. As all who knew him would say, John was
not a man of many words, but a man who communicated his beliefs through his actions. I find his letters communicate
his depth almost as well as his actions did in life.
If you only had but time for one or two letters, I would recommend the one written on
07 / 26 / 2006 just a few days before his death. Secondly, I'd say
check out Ronin or Samurai?, a letter that is
'classic John Lee' written to a mission board of a church that will remain unnamed,
urging them to action for missions.
Also, I've included some picture galleries and the link to the memorial site that his family put together where
you can read different people's perspectives and stories from John's life. At this point this collection of his letters are mostly from his last summer in Japan leading a
mission team in Tokyo. If you have others of John's letters
that you think should be added please contact me.

Stoked...
This first letter was a actually the last email I received from John. He wrote it in response to asking
him permission to forward his
07 / 26 / 2006 update on to my friends. His comment
about benefiting others by his words was the impetus to see his other letters made more
widely available in this format.

Hey Mark,
Consider any updates I
send to be public domain. I'd be stoked if anything I write becomes of
benefit to anyone.
